- Project Value:
- More than 5 million passengers and 3 million tonnes of freight are expected to cross the road-rail bridge each year
- The road-rail bridge will be connected to the Kinshasa-Ilebo railway, which is planned for extension
- The bridge is part of the Central African section of the Tripoli-Windhoek-Cape Town trade corridor (Trans-African Highway 3) between Libya, Namibia and South Africa
- Its construction will facilitate the connection of the capitals of Chad, Cameroon, Gabon, RoC and DRC
- Ultimately, the bridge is expected to complete the trade corridor connecting the continent’s Atlantic Ocean coast on the west to the Indian Ocean coast on the east.
