Chileka-Likuni Corridor Road, Malawi
- Upgrade 53.2 km of road on the Chileka-Likuni Corridor, located within the capital city Lilongwe in the central region
- Work will be undertaken over an estimated duration of 30 months
- In addition, periodic maintenance is to be undertaken on 6 km of road beginning from the end of the main corridor road at Likuni bridge and ending at Likuni roundabout
- The contractor is also to undertake periodic maintenance and improvements to 90 km of unpaved district and community access roads
- The works on unpaved district and community access roads will include mainly reshaping to restore the road formation and side drainage. Culverts will be replaced where necessary and spot gravelling will be carried out on slopes and areas with weak soils. No new bridges or large culverts are envisaged on the unpaved link roads
