Critical and Rare Earth Element Refining Facilities Phase 1
- Build three facilities utilising ReElement’s proprietary refining platform to produce high-purity lithium carbonate, rare earth oxides and other critical minerals
- In phase 1, the first plant is planned to be built in Gauteng, South Africa, the second in Zambia or Angola to leverage the Lobito Corridor, and the third in Lagos, Nigeria, to harness the country's lithium deposits
- The plants will be built near mines and can be constructed by repurposing existing buildings due to the modular nature of the refining technology
- The facilities will use locally and regionally sourced raw materials as feedstock, in addition to waste products such as old batteries, magnets and cellular phones
- The output is expected to support growing demand in the battery and defence industries within both Africa and North America
