Project Pipeline

Transmission line:

• Build a 220 km 500 kV monopolar power line running from the substation at Partanna (Sicily) to the substation at Mlaabi on the Tunisian peninsula of Capo Bon
• From the landing point on the Sicilian coast, the underground cable will run for 18 km to the Partanna converter station. From the landing point on the Tunisian coast, the underground cable will run 6 km to the new converter station in Mlaabi. The undersea cable will cross the Strait of Sicily for about 200 km between the two landing sites
• The line will have a capacity of 600 MW and a maximum depth of approximately 800 metres along the Strait of Sicily
• Build a 113-120 km double-circuit 400 kV link starting at the new converter station at Mlaabi and connecting to Tunisia's bulk transmission system, ending at a new 400 kV substation at Mornaguia
