Transmission Expansion and Energy Storage (TEES) Programme, Namibia
NamPower is embarking on the Transmission Expansion and Energy Storage (TEES) Project in Namibia. This initiative involves three main components:
- Construction of a 465 km 400 kV transmission line, known as the second Auas-Kokerboom transmission line
- Establishment of a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility – a 45 MW/90 MWh BESS at the Lithops Substation in the Erongo region
- Provision of technical assistance to facilitate the implementation of renewable energy projects
