Project Pipeline

Build a 282 km electrified standard gauge railway (SGR) line from Uvinza in Tanzania (off the Tabora-Kigoma SGR line) across the international border along the Malagarasi river to Musongati. The implementation period is 72 months, including a 12-month waiting period 

• Lot 1 consists of a 180 km stretch of railway in Tanzania from Uvinza to the Malagarasi border, including an 800-metre bridge across the river, earthworks, bridges, culverts, viaducts, ballasting and laying of tracks, installation of telecommunication systems, construction of stations, electrification and environmental and social actions, according to specifications
• Lot 2 consists of the 102 km Burundi section from the Malagarasi border to the Musongati mine  fields, where there will be significant freight sidings and where the control station of the Burundi SGR, including a marshalling yard, will be built, including rehabilitation of Rutana hospital
