Ethiopian Electric Power HQ Building, Ethiopia

  • Build an energy-efficient and sustainable green main office building for Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) situated in Addis Ababa's financial district
  • The building will cover a total area of 20,792 square metres and a total built-up area of 197,800 square metres
  • When completed, it will have a total floor area of 208,724 square metres and a height of 345.5 metres
  • The building will have 62 floors and the main components of the works are as follows:
    o Basements 1-3: Parking spaces, MEP Rooms
       Podium Levels:
    o Ground Floor: EEP Office Lobby, Commercial Offices Lobby, Retail Spaces, services
    o First Floor: Retail Spaces, services
    o Tower levels 1 to 55: Office spaces, sky gardens, services
    o Tower level 56: Sky Garden, Technical Floor
    o Tower level 57: Restaurant
  • This project will be carried out under an EPC contract and is expected to be completed in four years
  • Dar al-Handasah is the consultant for design and construction supervision
  • EEP is looking at various financing options to cover the cost of the construction  and once the bidding process is completed, the total cost of the construction will be announced
