The Central African Republic Electricity Sector Strengthening and Access Project (PARSE) is a comprehensive initiative to increase the supply and access to clean electricity services across the country. Building on the successes of previous projects, PARSE focuses on deploying both on-grid and off-grid renewable energy solutions, primarily solar power generation and upgraded transmission and distribution networks.
The project entails the expansion of the Danzi solar power plant capacity from 25 MW to 40 MW, the construction and rehabilitation of transmission infrastructure, including substations and a 21 km 110 kV transmission loop, and the installation of five solar mini-grids to serve around 20,000 households in cities such as Nola, Bouar, Bossembélé, and Bangassou.
