Abidjan–Ouagadougou–Niamey–Cotonou–Lomé Regional Rail Loop

The Abidjan–Ouagadougou–Niamey–Cotonou–Lomé Regional Rail Loop is a flagship multi-national railway infrastructure project aimed at creating a modern, integrated freight and passenger rail corridor linking five West African capitals: Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Niamey (Niger), Cotonou (Benin), and Lomé (Togo). The project is part of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) Priority Action Plan II and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) transport strategy to enhance regional connectivity, foster economic integration, and strengthen seamless cross-border transport services across the sub-region.
