The Niger Integrated Water Security Platform Project (IWSP) is a comprehensive national initiative to enhance water security across key regions of Niger. The project focuses on improving integrated water resources management, expanding safe and reliable water supply and sanitation services, and strengthening resilience to climate variability. It targets priority sub-basins across five regions —Dosso, Maradi, Tahoua, Tillabery, and Zinder —promoting watershed restoration, reforestation, land restoration, and agroforestry techniques to enhance ecosystem sustainability.
The IWSP encompasses investments in urban and rural water infrastructure, capacity building, technical studies, and project management, with the overarching goal of ensuring sustainable water access and supporting socio-economic development in Niger.
