The Regional Climate Resilience Program for Eastern and Southern Africa 2 (RCRP2) is a multi-country initiative designed to enhance climate resilience by improving management of water-related climate risks and disasters.
The project aims to protect over 1.6 million people by investing in infrastructure, early warning systems, catchment management, social protection mechanisms, and regional cooperation to respond more effectively to floods, droughts, and other climate shocks. Its scope includes risk management and climate financing, sustainable infrastructure development, adaptive climate services for communities, project management, and rapid response funding for emergencies, targeting not only the physical protection of people and assets but also long-term institutional and community preparedness and adaptation.
