The Water Supply and Sanitation Access Program (PASEA) in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a large-scale infrastructure initiative. Its primary goal is to dramatically improve access to safe water supply and sanitation services for millions living in underserved regions, particularly in provinces such as Kasai, Kasai Central, Kasai Oriental, and Kwilu, and ultimately in nine provinces nationwide.
The program encompasses the construction and rehabilitation of water supply systems, sanitation facilities, and institutional strengthening, while also supporting local water operators and engaging provincial project units to ensure efficient implementation. The overall scope includes capacity building, service provision, technical studies, contractor supervision, and ongoing monitoring, all coordinated with government ministries, utility companies, and various international funding agencies to promote health, resilience, and community development in areas beset by infrastructure and governance challenges.
