The Resilient and Strategic Transport Operational Enhancement (RESTORE) project is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at improving key transport corridors in Malawi’s Lower Shire Valley. Spanning the districts of Mwanza, Chikwawa, and Nsanje, the project focuses on rehabilitating and upgrading critical road segments—including portions of the M1, S152, S151, and S136—to enhance climate resilience, road safety, and connectivity.
The scope encompasses not only roadworks but also the development of supporting structures, enhanced flood protection, and community engagement to ensure sustainable outcomes.
