Ghana Second Gas Processing Plant project (GPP II) aims to increase the country's gas processing capacity. The project involves constructing a second gas processing plant, effectively doubling the existing capacity at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from 150 MMscfd to 300 MMscfd. This expansion is crucial for Ghana to reduce its reliance on imported fuels and enhance energy security. 

• Purpose: The primary goal is to process more raw gas, including volumes from the Jubilee and TEN fields, and to fractionate natural gas liquids into pure components like propane, butane, and pentane.
• Location: The new plant will be situated north of the existing Atuabo Gas Processing Plant in the Western Region.
• Key Drivers: The project is driven by the need to reduce Ghana's expenditure on imported liquid fuels, which currently costs over $1 billion annually for powering thermal plants.
• Committee Formation: On 12th of May 29025, the Ghanaian government has inaugurated an Implementation Committee to oversee the project's design, financing, and execution.
