The Southern Niger Connectivity and Integration Project is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at transforming transport connectivity, logistics, and economic integration in southern Niger. The project is designed to rehabilitate critical road infrastructure, enhance climate resilience, and foster socio-economic development, particularly in regions vulnerable to climate shocks and displacement.
- Rehabilitate the Maradi–Zinder section of Niger’s National Road 1 (RN1), a vital corridor for domestic and cross-border trade.
- 525 kilometers of feeder and rural roads will be upgraded to climate-resilient standards.
- Investments in logistics infrastructure, such as markets, storage facilities, and distribution centers, to support agricultural value chains and rural commerce.
- Support of reforms for improved road asset management and multi-year maintenance planning to ensure long-term sustainability
