The Niger Accelerating Electricity Access Project, known as "Haské" (meaning "light" in Hausa), is a major government initiative supported by the World Bank to rapidly increase electricity access across Niger. The project aims to raise the national electricity access rate to 30% by 2026 and 80% by 2035, addressing both urban and rural electrification challenges.
- Construction of a 270 km double circuit 132-kV line (or a single circuit 330-kV line) and 3-4 substations connecting Zabori (Zone Fleuve) to Malbaza (Niger Centre-Est) via Doutchi and Konni.
- Upgrading and densifying existing distribution networks, and building new medium and low voltage networks to electrify new localities, especially rural development hubs.
