The Rede Nacional de Transporte de Electricidade (RNT) in Portugal plays a critical role in distributing electricity nationwide, managed by the transmission system operator for reliability and grid stability. Established under the Electricity Transformation Program (PTSE) by Presidential Decree 305/14 on 20 November, and guided by the Energy Security Policy Agency (PSEA) under Presidential Decree No. 256/11 dated 29 September, RNT EP integrates renewable energy and efficiently transmits power from plants to consumers. This supports economic activity, enhances energy security, and contributes to sustainability goals by ensuring a stable and sustainable electricity supply across Portugal.
