Red Rocket is a renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) based in Cape Town, specializing in large-scale wind, solar, hydro, and biomass projects. Founded in 2012 as the Africa and Middle East unit of Building Energy, the company has 377 MW of projects either operational, under construction, or awarded. Red Rocket is expanding with over 2 GW of new projects in the pipeline for South Africa’s REIPPPP and other African initiatives. The company maintains a diverse portfolio across different geographies and currencies and has a team of over 75 employees in South Africa and Uganda.
