Flexible Energy Developments (FlexED)
FlexED specializes in the development of flexible technologies (in the range of 5-500MW within Southern Africa) which supports and enables the journey to net zero. We believe that the most viable combination of proven generation technologies today consists of batteries; flexible gas power; and hydro/pump-storage. Collectively, these technologies can effectively provide the full spectrum of flexibility requirements in a manner that will maximise renewable energy and reduce system costs whilst maintaining system reliability.
As we strive to develop projects that can meet the future flexibility needs of the power system, we also strive to maintain our interests in new emerging flexible technologies such as Long Duration Energy Storage and Green Hydrogen and building these potential avenues during the project conceptualisation phase.
